Ortho Evra Patch

Ortho Evra Questions

Ortho Evra QuestionsQ:
What Ortho Evra lawsuits have been filed?
A: In November 2005, an Ortho Evra birth control patch lawsuit was filed on behalf of a 14-year-old girl who had used the patch for only eight weeks and died after suffering blood clots in her pelvis.

In March 2006, another birth control patch lawsuit was filed in New Jersey for the wrongful death of a 20-year-old woman who used the Ortho Evra patch and developed deadly blood clots.

Women who used Ortho Evra and suffered heart attacks, blood clots or strokes may be eligible to file a lawsuit.

More recently, an Ortho Evra lawsuit was filed on behalf of a 35-year-old woman who suffered from severe headaches, nausea and vision problems before dying from blood clots related to the Ortho Evra patch.

In 2004, almost 10 million prescriptions were written for the Ortho Evra patch. Researchers have also found that 3 in 200,000 women will suffer from deadly Ortho Evra side effects; in contrast, 1 in 200,000 women will die as a result of taking the pill.

Q: Is an Ortho Evra lawsuit right for me?
A: Women with the following conditions may be eligible to file an Ortho Evra birth control patch lawsuit:

    • Heart attack

    • Blood clots in the legs, lungs, or abdomen
