Nuva Ring

Nuva Ring Side Effects

Nuva RingThe NuvaRing has been linked to an increased risk of blood clots and other conditions. Several studies have found that women using the NuvaRing may face twice the risk of blood clots compared with some types of birth control pills.

This can leave them vulnerable to a number of serious NuvaRing side effects, including heart attack, stroke, pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis.

The health risks associated with the NuvaRing are the result of the type of hormones the vaginal ring uses to prevent conception.

Third generation contraceptives double a woman’s risk of serious blood clots or deep vein thrombosis.

The NuvaRing is part of a class of birth control known as “third generation” contraceptives, which use a different type of the hormone progestin from older “second generation” birth control pills.

The amount of hormones delivered by the NuvaRing is significantly lower that the amount a patient receives from birth control pills.

However, some experts believe that the type of progestin used in the NuvaRing increases the risk of blood clots even at these lower doses.

The consumer group Public Citizen has called on the Food and Drug Administration to ban the NuvaRing and other third generation birth control products.

The group says that there are no medical benefits to using the newer birth control methods that would justify the increased risk of blood clots or other side effects that women face.

These arguments have been supported by the results of several recent studies. According to a study conducted by the Cleveland Clinic and another published in the New England Journal of Medicine, third generation contraceptives double a woman’s risk of serious blood clots or deep vein thrombosis compared with older products.

Although Organon USA marketed the NuvaRing as a safe alternative to the Ortho Evra patch, many women who suffered blood clots or other NuvaRing side effects have begun to question the truthfulness of these claims.

Some women have also decided to file NuvaRing lawsuits against Organon, accusing the company of misrepresenting the safety of the birth control ring to consumers.
